Instructions

Preparation

For repairs:
The substrate must be clean and free of dust, damaged concrete, grease or other substances that could weaken adhesion. Chiselling and/or blasting is normally needed. The surface should be rough. Particular care should be taken in removing rust from reinforcing iron.

The surface should be watered thoroughly several days in advance. The substrate should be damp but still absorbent. Remove any standing water just before application.

As a surface layer:
Freshly cast concrete should not be treated for a month after casting. Any surface contaminants should be removed by chiselling or blasting. Grinding is not normally recommended as it tends to weaken adhesion.

The surface should be watered thoroughly several days in advance. The substrate should be damp but still absorbent. Remove any standing water just before application.

Mixing:
A 5 kg tub of Bemix Korrohäft is mixed with 1.8-2.2 litres of tap water for at least five minutes into a clump-free mix. Mixing is done with a drill and mixer attachment. Vary the amount of water for the desired consistency. The temperature of the substrate and surroundings should be 5°C – 25°C.

Application

For repairs:
Apply with a small or large brush. Korrohäft should be carefully worked into the surface. The next layer is applied wet-in-wet before the slurry can dry.

As a surface layer:
Apply with a brush, or with a roller if a finer texture is required.

Afterwork:
The product does not need after treatment but should be kept damp and protected from sun and wind for the first 24 hours.
